With Yogg-Saron down and ToC10 cleared it was the logical time to begin Ulduar hard modes. So begin we did, starting with Orbital Devastation (10 player) - Flame Leviathon with 2 towers up. This saw the drop of our first Ulduar recipe, which went to the recently returned Bearish. Grats! Next on the chopping block was XT-002, and egged on by his ridiculous Nickolodean kiddies voice, we rose to the challenge and nailed Heartbreaker (10 player). Upon reaching the Assembly of Iron, I erred on the side of caution, choosing Molgeim as the last standing. We thus achieved I Choose You, Runemaster Molgeim (10 player), and we did it fairly comfortably as well.
Kologarn presented a challenge: Apart from being really, really big, he has no hardmode to speak of. Therefore we chose the achievement With Open Arms (10 player) as a suitable diversion while creating our bridge over to Auriya. We attacked just his body and managed to drop him without killing either of the arms. Unfortunately, due to a mistake by yours truly, we only dropped 8 guardians instead of the prescribed 9 on Auriya, and thus missed out on another (meaningless) achievement.
At this point it was getting reasonably late, so we swapped over to Onyxia, managing to nail She Deep Breaths More (10 player) and More Dots! (10 player). All in all a very successful night, and we had a great time discussing more 80's music in Ventrilo. Unfortunately my net seems to be capped so I missed out on tonights raid. However, I hope to be back by Sunday.
