Gday all,

I'm a friend of Lestor and DrDuke and have recently started playing WoW. I'd be interested in joining your guild if you'll have me. I'm quite the newbie atm so if you're looking for experienced players I'm probably not your man. However, I'm spending most of my time playing with wow fiends so I'm learning pretty quickly.

Some personal info

Name - Sam
Age - 27
Location - Perth
Character - Gishlick - L26 Undead Warlock. Right now I'm focused solely on learning to play this character
Experience - I only started playing WoW a few weeks ago. I'm very new to it and do some newbie things from time to time, but I'm enjoying learning as I go along. Aside from WoW I've got plenty of experience as a team player, I come from an FPS clan background and it was always the team play that attracted me to it.
Commitment - I work 9-5 mon-fri, so I can only play evenings and weekends. Right now Im averaging about 10 hours/week. If I join up, I can see myself playing more. Setting aside a whole night for raids is also very easy for me, I'm a single guy who works with computers, what else am I going to do on a saturday night?

I'm not 100% sure what I have to offer to the guild right now aside from enthusiasm and a willingness to learn, but I'd really like to join up and find out what its all about.

I like to play a few FPS's as well.  Mostly Counter Strike Source & Team Fortress 2, but a bit of COD4 on the 360 too.  Looking forward to Left4Dead next.

And Sam, I think the guys mainly focus on the person behind the keyboard rather than the character. Being a (reasonably)sane and amicable person is more important than being leet. So what I am saying is I wouldn't worry too much about lack of experience or hardcore commitments. This isn't like our scrimming FPS days and as a guild we're only just starting to loosely organize cooperative activities. No hardcore raiding schedule here!

But anyway, the officery types will fill you in with the details.

Actually I think a lot of us wish we could go back to the time when we had just started, and the world seemed wide and mysterious. It works even better if you avoid the class forums until you hit 70, as they'll poison your outlook with all the excessive whining :)

Lestor gets the essence of SA:WoW and his recommendation carries a fair bit of weight. Have a chat with me online (Hiiru / Shinrai) and let's get you guilded. Sounds like you'll fit right in.

I dunno, I reckon if you ignore the "Buff us, nurf others" posts, class forums are at least educational. The forum I'd advise never reading is the Caelestrasz forum. It's just .... depressing.
