    Southern Armada EQ2 Recruitment

Welcome to Southern Armada's EQ2 recruitment page.  SA is a guild with a long MMORPG history, having formed during the days of EQ1.  After a long and very successful stint in EQ1 our members moved on to other games, and we have since been involved as a guild in a range of games including World of Warcraft, Lineage, Lord of the Rings Online and Vanguard.

SA's EQ2 membership is predominantly Australian-based, or at least within the Asian-Pacific time-zones, although we do have members from other parts of the world as well.  In addition, quite a few of our members have been with the guild since its origin, so we have a fairly mature playerbase, and gaming tends to take place in the evening after work.  What this means is that our “peak” times, when we have most people on at once, is in the evenings Australian time - please keep this in mind if you are considering joining SA.  Whilst matching your play time to our peak play time is not an absolute requirement, we believe both you and the guild will get the most benefit from being able to play together regularly.

Hopefully you are looking for the same things that we are - good capable people to game with in all that EQ2 has to offer, in a friendly and sociable environment.  We enjoy the challenges of working together to defeat content.  With that said, we value most the friendships and social interaction that comes from gaming together.

    Requirements

What we expect is someone mature and sociable enough to contribute to a guild / group / raid and skilled enough (or capable of learning) that we can meet and defeat the challenges the game offers.  If you're looking for people to run you through instances, or make your character l33t in the shortest possible time, then SA is probably not the guild for you.  We play because we enjoy the gaming.  We also believe that gaming is much more fun with people you know well and can trust.  We are particularly welcoming to real life friends of members and partners.

Most of our members are mature adults, but this is not an absolute requirement if you have a mature approach to interacting with people.  We don't tolerate a person putting the game ahead of other people in general and guild members in particular.

We aim to maintain a healthy balance of actively playing class archetypes and specific classes in the guild to enable effective grouping and raiding.  To this end we will update from time to time our interest levels in specific classes in the corresponding thread in this forum.  Although members play alts from time to time, our focus is on the development and advancement of one main character per person.

    Raids

SA has run regular raids in all of the games we've played, and we have now commenced raiding in EQ2.  We have moved quickly on from T5/T6, and are now on to T7 / T8 raid content.  At present we have openings in our raid force, so the opportunity is there to get in and contribute to the fun of building towards regular T8 raiding.

Please note that SA is not a "hardcore" raiding guild.  Historically, given the demographic of our player base, we have tended to raid twice a week, although we have been known to throw in a third night here and there depending on circumstances.  This will continue here in EQ2.  That said, SA prides itself on our record of raid progression in all games we have played.  We are looking forward to getting stuck in to the high-end T8 stuff, and we'll have lots of fun and laughs doing it.

Whilst not an absolute requirement for raid involvement, being able to commit to a reasonable number of our raid nights, and having a willingness to advance your character with the raid as we progress through raid content will improve the chances of slots being able to be made available on nights that suit you.

    Recruitment Process

Southern Armada is always happy to find more good people to game with.  Preferably, you'll see us in game, group with us, and like what you see enough to join us.  Feel free to chat with any Southern Armada member, and see if you think the guild would suit you.  Please understand members may be busy in the middle of a dungeon / quest / battle, and may not be able to talk to you in great detail.  In this event, try another member, or try again later.  If they offer to recommend you, then you'll need to speak with our Guild Leader, Zelin for a short chat.

Providing you make a positive impression, you will be guilded initially as an initiate.  Being an initiate isn't meant to be demeaning.  It is intended so the guild knows you are a new member, and can have the chance to introduce themselves and get to know you.  It also lets you make sure this is a guild you want to be a part of longer term.  It also gives us a chance to make sure that you will fit in well with us on an ongoing basis.  We do reserve the right to be picky, and if things just aren't working out, it may be best to part ways. To us, joining a guild is like being invited into a circle of friends. We'd rather stay small, or grow slowly, than add someone who makes it harder to enjoy the game.

If all goes well, you'll be a full member generally after about six weeks, but you do need to make an effort to get to know people and contribute to the guild.

    Forums

You are encouraged to register for the forum (southernarmada.org) and write a post introducing yourself, your character(s) and why you think SA is a good match for what you want from your gaming.  This is helpful for recruitment into SA EQ2, but it is also part of becoming a member of the wider Southern Armada community who all share the forums.  Once you become a member we will arrange access to our members-only forums.

If you have any questions or suggestions feel free to contact any of the following officers in game, or on the forums.

    • Zelin - Guild Leader (alts Zel***)
    • Xardeth - Officer (alts Xard***)
    • Garbar - Officer (alts Garb, Bagou)
    • Lisani – Officer
