fallout 3 refuces classification in aus

    jesus this is getting stupid.

    http://www.kotaku.com.au/games/2008/07/its_official_fallout_3_refused_classification_in_australia.html

Fallout 3 refused classification by the people who have no clue.   one assumes it will be like GTA4 and they have to strip whatever it was, and hopefully it wasn't central to the story line

The report linked on the same page says it was because the character takes drugs (part of fallout 1 and 2 so nothing new) using means that look a bit like real life drugs.

    Lame.

Then again, maybe it will protect me from watching my fond memories of fallout get trounced by Betheseda's inability to make an actual game and not a sandbox with a broken ruleset.

Maybe, if your lucky, but if Customs find it they'll confiscate it, and you'll be up for a fine or something if i remember correctly

They'll probabiliy release one of those "toned down" releases.

Ahh, I knew I could rely on mother-government to take care of me, and to keep me safe... Mother knows best after all!

Our silly nanny state just needs an "adult only" classification for games. Then they can restrict the purchase to adult only instead of banning the game entirely. I think there's basically a built in prejudice to the classification system that says only children play computer games.

i love that age old debate of classification rating systems in aus. almost 2 decades later, the dinosaurs havent figured out the average gaming age in this country is 25+ and we still dont have a 18+ rating. takes me back to the days of "night trap" on sega. zomg pixle boobies!
