SA history and expectations page? :)

    Hello Southern Armada

Am looking for a little background history on SA, end-game goals, majority member locations, raid looting policies (Dkp etc) etc but I seem to be unable to find any links for such info? Or am I simply looking in the wrong place :)

    Thx in advance.

Well I'm not an officer but I think I can answer most of those.

SA came from EQ, used to play on Prexus.
End-game goals...not sure but I guess kill Onyxia and Ragnaros?
Most are from Australia, and raids happen Australian time zone (east coast 8pm ish)
Raid looting policy in eq was merit, atm in WoW we roll on stuff

    Old eq site
    has stuff on it

I'm not an officer either but I'll fill in what I can.  SA comes from Everquest originally.  We played on the prexus server.  A majority of the members are aussie based (brisbane, sydney, adelaide etc).  Loot wise we did use a merit system in EQ, I think we are still in the process of setting that system up in WoW and for the time being are just using rolls (one of the officers please correct me if I'm wrong).

SA is easier to understand if you realise it was the only Australian guild on prexus. As a result the guild has a wide diversity of playstyles from serious power gamers to relatively casual gamers. So while SA has a lot of mature and skilled people we raid somewhat casually, two raids a week (in EQ, prob. here too) and no visible merit to reduce loot whining. This pace worked out pretty well in not running out of content too. It's also possible it kept the powergamers from burning out.

SA has an impressively stable membership, lots of people who have been in the guild for years and years, many have met in real life and most realise the people you game with are more important than the virtual property you build up in playing it.

    SA History:

Bunch of pissed (mostly) Aussies playing EQ that tried stupid things and somehow pulled it off against all logic.  EQ started to suck too much so moved (predominately) to WoW.

    SA Goals:

Hopefully continue doing in WoW what we did in EQ - only with more alcohol involved.

    SA Looting Policy:

"Fuck I'll have that" seems to work pretty well as a request for loot.
