Any good music to be recommended?

Any good music to be recommended?

Postby Maelkorin » 07 Mar 2010, 13:00

Being in China I'm kinda out of the loop with respect to new music. Is there anything new that can be recommended to DL?

Some bands I like: Karnivool, Dead Letter Circus, Nine Inch Nails, Infected Mushroom.

If anyone can recommend something let me know!

Are you prepared to listen to some different types of music?

Mumford & Sons, a folky type band from the UK. Couple of singles from their debut album are worth a look. These are YouTube links.
Little Lion Man
The Cave

A really good Elbow song for a couple of years ago.
Grounds for Divorce

Lastly, a song from about 9 years ago by the Coral. They are from the Wirral in the UK which is where I come from. Adding it, because it's a brilliant 3 minute pop song.

Sorry for late post. Been unable to get all of this working. Youtube is blocked in China and myspace comes and goes.

Right now I can get to myspace, have managed to get the pages in english instead of chinese... but the widgets dont work so i cant play the music.

Awesome.

Thanks for the feedback peeps.. I will try to download some of this when I get home.

You can still get through if you use a VPN. Most proxies are blocked as soon as they find them. China has literally tens of thousands of people employed to watch internet traffic alone.... so it's quite in their power to block it.

VPN's tend to work.. unfortunately I dont know any reputable ones and realistically cbf paying for VPN just to access Facebook and a few other sites.

Some you should check out if you haven't already, not really new music but all fairly alternative:
Tool
A Perfect Circle - Mer De Noms
Puscifer - Trent Reznor does a track with these guys called 'Potions'
The Mars Volta - Start with first album, De-Loused in the Comatorium. Acquired taste, you either love them or hate them sort of band.
At The Drive In - Relationship of Command.
Dredj
Coheed and Cambria
Mr Bungle - Self titled album.
:new: Them Crooked Vultures - Dave Grohl, Josh Homme, Jon Paul Jones.
